Biography

Dr. Md. Kobir Hossain is a postdoctoral researcher in the Department of Civil, Environmental, and Architectural Engineering at The University of Kansas. He is working on the USACE funded project titled Improving the Performance of Concrete Dam Infrastructure Through Use of Fiber-Reinforced Polymers. Before joining KU, he was an Associate Professor of Civil Engineering at Dhaka University of Engineering and Technology (DUET), Gazipur, Bangladesh.



Dr. Hossain earned his Ph.D. from The University of Alabama, where he led research on hybridized timber buildings using cross-laminated timber and light wood frame shear walls under the supervision of Dr. Sriram Aaleti and Dr. Thang N. Dao. His research interests include the design of reinforced concrete structures, ultra-high-performance concrete (UHPC), and mass timber buildings.
